We’re still buzzing from Emmy nom, and now another huge shoutout is in order: our colleague Rita Hetényi has been nominated for Achievement in Art Direction at the Canadian Screen Awards for her work as set decorator on Rumours!
This Canadian–German co-production is a wild political satire with horror vibes, which had its premiere at Cannes and was shot largely in Budapest. Set in a forest after a chaotic G7 summit, the story follows seven world leaders — including Cate Blanchett as Germany’s chancellor — as they spiral into madness.
With its surreal aesthetics, mummies crafted from bug carcasses, a giant brain pulsing deep in the forest, and an eerie, foreboding atmosphere, the film’s bold visual world truly stands out — and this nomination celebrates exactly that.
